Sam,
I built a B9 Lost in Space Robot robot and I want to put a bot into him.
Could give me some idea of how you did yours?

I built an actual physical Android in which I used auxillary and hooked
up to my bot, she has loud speakers...this was a fun expirement.She/it
took a while to build.Brexxa-1 is on myspace for photos under "brexxa"

So long as your interested in hosting, make it more challenging
by providing more than just a web interface. What about instant
messaging formats? Or use Flash to create a real-time
interactive
avatar character. Or create a interface to second life, like
setup a
therapist 'consultant' Or combine the chat bot with those new
'byoms'
programmable search agents to create current events chats. Or
how
about getting your bot to control one of the SIMS? This would
involve
Game AI too. Speaking of Games, how about a chatbot caracter in
one of
those masive multiplayers, not a FPS of course. Or for Cell
phones how
about VR (voice recognition) --> chatbot --> TTS (text to
speech)
Hosting is not the edge, systems intergration is the hot edge.
Quite a
few very challenging programming projects there. And if your
really hard
core, think about adding user emotion analysis via voice stream
data or
facial expressions (web cam data) There are products out there
(not
free); but again the main hurdle is systems intergration. Give
your
bot new mediums for expression :-))
