Have you ever wanted to customize your Bot HTML pages?
To include the dialogue history?
To embed pictures and sounds?
To display AIML state information like mood, personality or date?
To initialize your AIML predicate values?
Pandorabots has added a unique feature to enable you to customize the HTML
appearance of your bot with AIML tags. Using the AIML you have already
learned to customize your bot, you can now also customize the appearance
of your HTML web page. Here is how it works. Simply insert the AIML
<template> tag inside your bots HTML chat page. The Pandorabots program
evaluates any AIML that appears inside the <template> tag every time the
HTML page is displayed. That is, every time the bot replies to a client
request, the Pandorabots program reprocesses the HTML template and checks
to see if it contains any AIML <template> tags. If it does, those
<template> tags get evaluated and any AIML tags inside get processed too.
You can use those AIML tags to get a wide variety of customized HTML
pages, including embedded images and sounds, access to AIML state
information, dialogue histories, and initializations. The AIML
customization of HTML web pages is documented exclsuively in Be Your Own
Botmaster for the first time.
